Against

The CIA and Argentine Intelligence recruits former officers and troops from Somoza's National guard to be led by Adolfo Calero. Taking their name from the Spanish word for "Against", this army would be known as the Contras. Adolfo Calero was the perfect pick to lead this army and be the Contra's main spokesperson. Calero gave the Contras credibility inside and outside Nicaragua. Besides being an outspoken part of the middle-class opposition to Somoza, Calero was the manager of Coca-Cola's Managua branch and a former CIA informant.
